Fierceness Served! The ENIKAlley Coffeehouse premieres at Filmfest DC on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Washington, DC
When we started production on the Fierceness Served! The ENIKAlley Coffeehouse documentary in Fall 2020 amid COVID-19, our primary goal was to document, celebrate, and honor an almost completely forgotten chapter of American LGBTQ achievement, culture, and history told through the lens of bold, fierce Black LGBTQ artists and activists. They never imagined then that the themes of racial and gender discrimination and identity would still resonate and challenge this community as strongly today. I couldn’t be more prouder to have this film included in its first festival screening in Washington, DC at Filmfest DC 2022. How befitting – fierceness served! – Shellée M.
